Life is a theatre.
So, invite your audience carefully.

Not everyone can or should have a front row seat.
And you get to decide who will sit there.

Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention!

Which ones lift, which ones lean, and which ones limit? Which ones encourage and which ones dishearten?

Are they leading you up a path of growth, going nowhere, or worse, taking you downhill?

Are there people who don’t really know or understand you, and never take the time to try?

What about critics, those who judge you and all that you do? And are those near you who only want to upstage you?

Who are the co-directors, working to bring out the best in you? Is there a supporting cast, helping you in your role?

Which ones make up your loyal fan club, applauding your efforts, and even giving an occasional standing ovation?

Who affirms and appreciates all your hard work?

Those who befits the last two are the people worthy of your attention, your time and your energy.

Know this; some people in your life are best loved from a distance. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of, or at least minimize, your time spent with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere friendships.

Each new day is a new scene with new acts and roles to portray. The sets always change. You come across new dialogue and lines to exchange between others. Scripts are improvised. But the beauty in it is that everyday, you are constantly learning who you are and how others around you are.

Express yourself and empathise. It’s okay to wear a mask every now and then but remember that you’ll eventually meet fellow thespians who will find a way to break down your walls and barriers.

God is your ultimate Director. Let Him write your script and call the cuts. Allow Him to provide you with the applause that truly matters. Let Him open up your heart to real self discovery. He is the best playwright that never dies. He lives.

The more you seek respect, growth, peace of mind, love and truth, the easier it will become for you to decide who sits in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony.

In the finale, you cannot “change” most of the people around you, so you have to change the people you are around the most.

Life is a theatre, and you are the star.
Step into the light, prepared to give the best performance possible.
Follow your heart; say your lines clearly and with confidence.

So, take centre-stage, dear friend. For life is a theatre, and there is no rehearsal.
